Access to customized IT solutions
As the nation’s first municipal electric company to offer the triple-play of services over a fiber-to-the-user network, Bristol Virginia and BVU OptiNet are viewed as pioneering leaders in the larger telecommunications industry. While other fiber-optic systems offer stock voice and data solutions, BVU OptiNet is highly robust and flexible. Its configurations are expandable to meet virtually any customer need – through consolidation of technologies and traffic types and isolation of desired services.
BVU OptiNet’s progressive thinking leadership works closely with business customers to determine exactly how companies operate and learn about their missions and goals. We then customize a telecommunications plan to match those strategies. Better yet, our customized, advanced broadband comes with lower rates than other network providers. Our all-fiber infrastructure makes that possible.
Each of our business customers is assigned an account representative who will guide you in everything from ordering and services installation to 24/7 network operations support.
Our leadership role in the industry has led to major telecommunications companies partnering with us to provide customers with access to double and even triple broadband redundancy and other global networks as needed. We know that in today’s global economy, having redundant broadband is a necessity - not an option - for companies.
Our business customers also appreciate Bristol Virginia’s redundancy of electric power. The area’s current power provider, Appalachian Electric Power, shares an interconnect point with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), which automatically activates when outages occur. This situation vastly reduces the possibility of disruption of business or manufacturing processes. On January 1, 2008, Bristol’s power provider will become TVA, activating a 20-year contract.
